A Splendid Reebonz Moment

To say that I had a pretty surreal day is an understatement.

I won a competition with Reebonz about a week ago. I had never won anything in my life before, and for this to be the first is pretty damn amazing! I received a call from one of their staff yesterday saying that my prize was ready to pick up. I literally could not sleep last night from the excitement, in turn I was worried about the huge bags I'd have under my eyes, especially because they kindly asked if they could take a picture of me receiving my prize. All the worry disappeared as soon as I saw how beautiful the Givenchy Antigona Clutch was in person. So please excuse the ridiculously goofy grin, I literally could not get rid of it!

To top it off, the staff at the Reebonz Sydney Concept Store was so friendly and welcoming. I'm still honestly pinching myself, so thank you so much for those who voted, I am so grateful!

I am just so excited they opened a store here in Sydney. I always love walking into the store, being sorrounded by an endless wall of bags and that heady aroma of leather. It's what I always assume (my) Heaven would be like. I have purchased from Reebonz online a few times and have had a really great experience with them. I also think they have the best and competitive pricing for designer leather goods around. I do an extensive research before buying anything, not just bags, to see who can offer me the best deal. For example, a large department store here in Sydney has a medium Givenchy nightingale, in the same type of leather and colour. The department store has theirs for $2200 and Reebonz has it for $1680. Now, no matter how much extra cash you have, I just don't know anyone who doesn't like a good saving.

Check them out in person if you can or check out their online store here.

The Collection, So Far........

A few months back, I did a collage collection of my other accessories here and I've been meaning to do one of my shoes and bags.

A common theme that you see in most of my outfits is that  my clothing are bargain finds or DIY's, while my accessories like bags and shoes are a little more on the splurge side. I figure if I end up weighing like the size of a small elephant, I will still be able to use these items.

Looking at it all laid out like this, makes me feel a little better that it's not too out of hand yet. Though in the next year or two I plan to add a Givenchy Nightingale to the collection. That's one bag I've wanted since the dawn of time (exaggeration never hurt anyone).

Due to my unemployment status, (why won't anyone give me a job?! If not for the financial reasons, just for the fact that I'm getting hooked on Bold & The Beautiful again! HELP!) I've been forced to shop in my own closet of late. It hasn't been bad so far. It's forced me to appreciate and actually use the things I have. It's also forced me to start altering the items of clothing I've purchased and not worn cos it was either too long, or too big, or I bought it for the purpose of making it into something else. It's amazing how good it feels when you finish altering a pile of clothes, it's like you just bought new items without spending a cent. For now, I am off to clean and condition my bags. Gotta keep them in tip-top shape! It would probably sound better if I said my social life is waning due to my being unemployed, unfortunately, I am as sad as they come. Nothing I enjoy more than staying home, especially since I get really sleepy by 9pm.

Happy Friday everyone, I hope the weekend brings you fab weather and great company.

If You Can't Beat Them, Join Them

I've been complaining a lot about how summer really needs to just go away now. Im sick of sweating and frizzy hair. So instead of crying about it, why not just enjoy it? It's obviously not something I can control. The week has been pretty good weather wise, apart from the humidity.

This little ensemble is actually a trapeze top and loose shorts, though it looks like a short dress. I don't know how comfortable I would be wearing this had it been a dress. Trapeze type dresses or tops move a lot and they like to blow up in the wind. Trust me, I don't need to flash the public anymore than I already have. My underwear is bought to be worn under clothing, not for show. So when I saw this outfit and found out it was shorts, it was definitely a go-er! Not only that, I picked it up for $10, not each, but for both. How can you honestly go wrong?

I picked it up at one of those, I hate to say this, but a friend of mine refers to it as those cheap and nasty stores. It's a store or space, if you will, that just has metal racks after metal racks. Basically 90% of the things in the store is $10. Some jackets can stretch to $20. But over the years I've found some gems in there and but I cannot for the life of me even remember what the stores are called.

Due to the Easter long weekend, businesses aren't allowed to trade on Good Fridays and Easter Sundays. For some reason, this sets the public into panic mode. So the Saturday between those days when the shops are allowed to open, it's like a cue for people to go on a mad rush and stock up on anything and everything like they're stocking up for a nuclear war.

I'd run out of cat food and there's really no way around that. I can't give the cats human food as I don't know if a) they'll even eat it or like it or b) if it's even good for them. I was already hyperventilating at the thought of braving the shops. As soon as I got there, I got lucky with parking, a guy had just left and I took over and as I was leaving and pushing my trolley of shopping to the car (I didn't end up just buying cat food), someone was already stalking me from behind for a parking spot.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe everyone was there as they all ran out of cat food and just decided to pick up other stuff along the way.

Peter Pilotto - Making A-Crazy-Print-&-Technicolour-Kinda-Gal's Dream Come True

Peter Pilotto - Making A-Crazy-Print-&-Technicolour-Kinda-Gal's Dream Come True

Peter Pilotto and his amazing technicolour dream prints can do no wrong. Especially for the rest of the world who just welcomed Spring!

These are just some of my favourite pieces.

I know I've sworn that I'm not a fussy dresser kind of girl and have always relied on accesories to give oomph to an outfit, but these pieces are making me re-think that. These are pieces of clothing you do not want to clutter with accesories. Some fine simple jewellery will do, to make these masterpieces speak for themselves. That's if they don't assault (in the nicest way possible) your sense of vision first.

Now I'm off to check my lottery ticket to see if I've won a handsome price. I need at least 5 of these pieces in my closet A.S.A.P!
