Taking Comfort In Unflattering Whites

Ok, so I have now succumbed to the fact that light coloured pants, especially white jeans is just unflattering on me. I mean especially if they are white boyfriend jeans, at least the blue jeans are a little bit more forgiving, but the white jeans just make me look about 2" tall.

It's all good though cos these jeans are so comfortable. Plus I've been loving my all white ensembles of late. My theory is that the whiter the clothes, the more the heat deflects from you. Whether that's true or not, my mind seems to think so and it stops my brain and my physical self from having a melt down, pun intended.

Capturing the beauty of Sydney's Hyde Park during a beautiful Summer day. Nature wanted to show it's bright colours and I certainly did not want to compete.

Have a lovely Friday!

Aileen

I received these Tony Bianco 'Aileen' Heels for my Birthday/Christmas. I've been lusting after black lace-up heels like the Azzedine Alaia Heels after seeing them on Barbara Martello here

I'm never going to be her no matter how much I wish for it, nor am I ever going to afford the real deal and even if I could afford them, I would need to move heaven and earth to actually locate them in my size.

Then Tony Bianco decided to make a look-alike for me (yes the world revolves around me - I wish!). I was super excited when I came across them and now I am ridiculously obsessed with them even if it takes about half an hour to put each shoe on.

Have a lovely weekend folks!

Acid Mix

I have a thing for skater dresses. They are simple enough to be dressed up or down and should be a wardrobe staple and should be owned in every colour you can get your mitts on.

You think that a bright neon yellow dress should just be left to it's own devices and should just be teamed with basic and neutral accessories, here I show you that you can throw in some print and some clashing colours aswell. Adding the military vest sort of tones it down and neutralizes all the clashing colours and leopard print.

Ok I admit, I have no clue. I could possibly have been temporarily blinded by the brightness of this dress and in the haze, think that this outfit actually works.

Oversized

Loving these $10 JayJay's boyfriend jeans so much. As much as I love darker clothing to give me the illusion of being slimmer than I actually am. I really love the look of neutral, soft and light colours together, it just screams fresh and crisp to me.

Marant

I know the twisted body-con skirt has had it's time in the limelight and probably now needs to retire, but while I love a good trend, there are times when they are keepers, like this Isabel Marant Etoile twisted skirt for example.

I purchased this at Barney's last year while I was in San Francisco. It's a dark grey marle and the material is just beyond amazing and it twists in the right areas just perfectly.

It's only a trend if you let it, but if you love something, I think you can find a way to make it a forever piece in your wardrobe.
