Trench

This golden oldie is a surprise favourite of mine. The thought of a long coat overwhelms me emotionally and physically. I just feel like anything long swallows my frame, especially as I'm not the most tiniest person, vertically yes, but horizontally, no.

This old Zara trench has the best silhouette I've ever found in a trench. I wasn't really actively looking for a trench coat as they have never really appealed to me. During one of my lunch breaks a few years back and by lunch breaks, I mean Zara trips, and these Zara trips always resulted in a purchase. Lets just say I had to live on noodles for months. Zara had just opened in Sydney and I was completely smitten with anything and everything Zara. Anyways, I digress....where was I? Oh yeah, I stumbled upon this trench and the thing that drew me to it was it's amazing power shoulders. Everything was about power shoulders then. The bigger the better! The Dynasty wardrobe was definitely a great influence. Just lucky that the big teased hair wasn't in, or maybe it was and it just went over me.

I think the shoulder pads balances the whole trench out and this will definitely be a forever wardrobe staple.

Coated Wine

Just a quick hello to say Winter is finally in full force (hallelujah!)!!! Though I am uncomfortably freezing, I love it! If I could drape myself in leather, I would! I'm only really just missing a pair of leather pants, one day I will own one, but for now I will have to settle for the leather look. I am especially loving all the coated denims. They have a leathery look, but with the ease and comfort of jeans.

These wine coloured jeans are from Cotton On. I am really loving their newer skinny jeans range. They are vertically-challenged friendly, in that they are actually skinny legged all the way through. Most of the skinnies I've purchased, when hemming, I've had to actually taper the legs so they hug my ankles. The pitfalls of being short, le sigh!

You can't see the front pocket zips here but these are the Zippy Coated in Wine, they also come in black and they are ankle grazers. I love love love this colour too, it's a perfect Winter colour. I also stumbled upon their Basic Tees range called The One, they are so comfy and it might sound ridiculous, but it is so hard to find crew neck tees that fit perfectly, so these might actually be...The One!

Happy Weekend! Hurrah!

Playsuit

I don't know what it is about playsuits that I love so much considering they are a pain in the butt if you have a pea-sized bladder. I just think they're a fun piece of clothing item. I also love that most are fun-sized people friendly, which I never realized until someone tall said they were jealous I could fit into playsuits cos of my frame. Well I guess that one for us shorties!

Watercolours

I've had this ASOS dress for well over a year now. I went through a stage where I would trawl the sale section in ASOS, click on the "Lowest Price First" dropdown and just go through pages and pages of sale items. This dress was one of 4 I bought that night and I swear to you I did not spend anymore that $80 AUD.

I'd tried it on about 2-3 times convincing myself I didn't really like it that much. It has been hanging in the spare room wardrobe still with its tags on until the day before the wedding. I had envisioned wearing a black playsuit, but found it just didn't fit right and the fact that playsuits are not very bathroom friendly. That did not sit well with me considering I have a pea-sized bladder.

So in a mad panic I tried to make this dress work and it turns out I actually love it. The vibrant colours and the cut was just a little more flattering on my not-so-flattering figure. I wanted the colours on the dress stand out and just paired it with nude shoes and clutch.

Hope you all had or are having a lovely weekend!

Winter Cozies

Do you ever have those days or weeks where you just look into your wardrobe and feel like there is nothing to wear? Nothing inspires you and nothing gets you excited? I am having one of those, and it's been 2 weeks and counting. It might have something to do with the fact that I'm really trying to cut down on buying anything. I know that I've always blabbed on about how no matter how boring your clothes are, you can resuscitate it by accessorizing. Don't get me wrong, that way of thinking, for me anyway, is never going to leave me. I 100% believe that. But in my current rut, even my accessories are looking dull and old.  My everyday go to pieces are starting to bore me. Maybe it's just the shopaholic in me, I haven't had that new item smell to get excited about.

I also started to get sick yesterday and at the worst timing too! The above outfit is a previous outfit I haven't had a chance to put up. In my state of malaise, I found it and felt it suited my mood today. This is a mens chunky knit jumper and I fell in-love with how big it is, it's nearly swallowing me, but it's the most comfiest thing ever. For dreary days, it sometimes doesn't hurt to mirror the weather or your personal mood.

Everly And Diego

As much as I complain about the heat and wanting it to be colder, I have actually been missing warmer weather attire. The good thing about Australia, even though it's meant to be the middle of Autumn, when the sun is out, it can still get very warm. The only sucky thing is that you never know what to leave the house with. If only carrying a small suitcase containing a few weather appropriate outfit changes was easy to do, then I'd be all over it. So shorts with boots are the best bet the rest of your lower limbs won't freeze off. I can't really rave enough about these Jeffrey Campbell Everly Boots. I have never owned a pair of boots that doesn't weigh a ton, so easy to walk in!

Speaking of weight, this Alexander Wang Diego bag probably weighs more than 10 pairs of these boots combined. As heavy as it is, I love it to pieces! The leather is also pretty damn amazing and I'm pretty sure all the weight is due to the extremely thick and chewy leather and let's face it, I go crazy for anything with studs on it. I think if you studded a pair of Crocs, it would get a second glance from me and that's saying a lot!
