As much as I complain about the heat and wanting it to be colder, I have actually been missing warmer weather attire. The good thing about Australia, even though it's meant to be the middle of Autumn, when the sun is out, it can still get very warm. The only sucky thing is that you never know what to leave the house with. If only carrying a small suitcase containing a few weather appropriate outfit changes was easy to do, then I'd be all over it. So shorts with boots are the best bet the rest of your lower limbs won't freeze off. I can't really rave enough about these Jeffrey Campbell Everly Boots. I have never owned a pair of boots that doesn't weigh a ton, so easy to walk in!

Speaking of weight, this Alexander Wang Diego bag probably weighs more than 10 pairs of these boots combined. As heavy as it is, I love it to pieces! The leather is also pretty damn amazing and I'm pretty sure all the weight is due to the extremely thick and chewy leather and let's face it, I go crazy for anything with studs on it. I think if you studded a pair of Crocs, it would get a second glance from me and that's saying a lot!

Army, Nautical and Neon

This vest is such a life saver when it's windy and you're wearing something short, and I cannot get enough it! It's also such a great item during transitional seasons when the weather is still trying to decide what it wants to be when it grows up. 

Stripes, anything neon and ankle boots are my biggest weakness. I hoard these things like a Bower bird, collecting the same items so I can attract a mate. I'm not really trying to attract a mate per say, i'm pretty sure the boy can't compute half the items I wear anyway. Like the time I asked him what he thought of the Sass and Bide harness, he asked why I needed a harness and if I was a horse. Enough said.

There's just something about stripes that attract me to it, I can't even come close to explaining it, but it just seems to look good on anyone and with anything. Neons, I can explain a little better, I love colour, the brighter the better. Ankle boots, doesn't really need much explaining. Even if you're vertically challenged, they look good. I've tried knee high and mid-calf boots, but they just don't have the same edge as what ankle boots can give you. These Jeffrey Campbell boots are my most favourite, they're not clunky in look and weight. I have sandals heavier than these boots and that's very hard to come by. This is definitely a winter staple.

Vest and Sneakers

This military vest is another great bargain find at $20. I have been scouring for one for a while that was long enough and had a great fit. This vest is actually 2 sizes bigger than what I'd normally take. I tried on the 2 smaller sizes and it just didn't feel right. Being able to cinch it at the waist with drawstrings made the fit just perfect. Don't be scared of the sizing tags. This is why I am welcoming the boyfriend-fit phenomena with open arms. Comfy and baggy dressing has never looked so cool.

To be honest with you, I didn't think this outfit through. But looking back at these pictures, I'm loving all the juxtaposition with the adrogynous loose fit vest and the sparkly sequinned bodycon dress.The only way you'd get me into anything bodycon is when it's draped with a loose item over it. Let's just say the term "bodycon" is very appropriate. The purple Izzy's was needed to add some colour into this outfit.

My Trashy New Boyfriend

So I like my boyfriends edgy, cool, loose, comfy and extremely trashed. Same goes for my jeans.......

In all seriousness, for the longest of time, I searched high and low for boyfriend jeans that would cater to my vertically challenged frame. I didn't want to look like I'd been attacked and half-way swallowed by large amounts of denim. I also did not want to fork out ridiculous amounts of money for one. I am done paying more than $200 for jeans, been there, done that, so I already have my staples. 

I initially settled for Zara jeans, where I just bought the next size up, but they hardly stayed on me unless I belted it, I still love them. But when I found these Jay Jay's one for a mere $15, which is a different wash to the Zara's and had the perfect amount of rips, I was sold. I didn't even try them on so I was extremely happy to come home only to realize how perfect they were. I did however add extra rips just to make them a lot more different to my other pair.

I also can't explain why I've been able to find ridiculous and amazing bargains of late. I mean the top and pants combined in this outfit cost less than the necklace itself. But the thing is, I don't expect for these items to last me til I am 60, but they're not exactly going to fall apart in the next 3-4 years either. They are simple and basic pieces that suits everything else in my wardrobe. If I at least get $1 per wear out of every item I own, then each piece is well worth it. Speaking like a true shop-a-holic/bargain hunter at heart.
