Queenstown

I have been dying for a holiday since I got home from my last holiday in Dec 2012.

The Boy and I had to think about where we wanted to go as we both don't really enjoy the heat, as enticing as a beach and pool kinda holiday is, we wanted to do something a little different and after seeing a documentary on New Zealand a little while ago we both just thought that it would be the perfect place for our first overseas trip together.

Ever since I got here I've probably said the sentence "Oh gosh, how beautiful is it here?!" a thousand times and we've only been here for 1.5 days. I already do not want to leave! I definitely recommend visiting Queenstown, New Zealand.

It had forecasted 7 days of rain and overcast and we were super lucky to have had more sunshine than we expected today and fingers crossed this is how it will be for the rest of our stay here.

The endless breathtaking lush green hills are so hard to capture in a photo. Snow capped hills are always on the horizon which is a picturesque contrast to the green and gold that sorround it.

I can't wait for the adventure ahead the next few days.

Saturdaze

I can't seem to stop reaching for stripes and whites. It's so easy to wear and you can bet it will make you look crisp and fresh. I have definitely toned down my love for colour. In the past, Summer for meant a lot of bright neon colours, not to say I have strayed from that, but I have definitely noticed my wardrobe evolve to something a little more grown up and wearable.

I hope you're having a lovely weekend so far!

My Kind Of Neutrals

Really loving all the softer neutral pallettes lately. Think icy greys, whites and barely there pastels, these are all great transitional colours. Although I don't really believe that certain colours are only meant to be worn in certain seasons, but I find myself gravitating more towards the cooler and paler shades during summer. Maybe it's drilled in my subconscious that the lighter the clothing, the more it will repel the suns rays. The heat is definitely not my friend, but I have to live with it and I might aswell enjoy it fashion-wise.

Have a fab weekend!

The Blues

How easy are chambray shirts to wear! Not only are they comfortable but they can look semi-dressed up somehow. The perfect item for an extremely lazy dresser like me. I think the key is playing the denim hues right. Personally, I wouldn't wear the same wash of jeans as shirt, I think it would just overwhelm my frame too much.

That's why I love this chambray shirt so much. The colour blocking is just perfect for mixing and matching. Plus I cannot wait to wear it open as a light jacket during the warmer months. I am picturing it with a white billowy dress or lace shorts. The endless styling possibilities of this chambray shirt just makes me giddy!

Plus how cute is this necklace?! It's not a secret that I'm an insane cat lady and what better way to showcase that by putting the initials of my fat furry friends on these cute kitty necklace pendants.

Where did the weekend go?

I hope you have a fab week ahead!

Animalia

What can I say about this vest? Well first of all, it's not a vest, its a dress, so it actually serves 2 purpose and it doesn't look bad being worn either way.

It's one of those clothing items that I think you either love or hate. I was initially iffy about it, is it just too trendy? Will I love it later on? To me, the answer is YES and YES! While I'm not into really "trendy" items, I however like out-of-the-norm pieces and this is one of those pieces. My boyfriend hates it with a passion. Usually when I ask him what he thinks about what I'm currently wearing, if he likes it, he will say "Yeah." (that's all I ever get!), or if he hates it or is confused by it, his reply is "Do you like it?", and his reply to this vest was the latter.

I'm never one to care what anyone thinks about what I'm wearing. If I like it, it's all that matters, yeah it's cliched, but in my time, I've had some very confusing items to some people. Very rarely do I come across anyone who has the same taste as me. Granted I dress very boring all of the time, it's only cos I dress for my lifestyle. I have nowhere Avante Garde to go, to wear something so ridiculous. But I think with this piece, I may start. If they're going to look, I'll make it worth their while, and probably cause some retina damage at the same time.
