Coat

Coat weather is the best weather. I always pine for colder days, I just feel the cooler season brings out the best in fashion. Maybe it's my affinity for leather jackets, jeans and coats. Let's face it, Australian summers aren't so forgiving with those clothing items.

I am currently crushing on this Forever New coat, as soon as I saw it, it was love at first sight and boy was it hard to go home and not think about it. You know what they say, "If you can't stop thinking about it, buy it." It's what shopaholics tell themselves so they can sleep at night, works well for me!

I love a beautifully detailed peacoat. From the amazing large lapels to the silver metallic buttons. The tiniest details, not just in coats, make a huge difference to a clothing item. Unfortunately I am a sucker for details. I also love the fact that is 71% wool so its extra warm and toasty. The coat is also in navy which is great as I have an aversion to buying black. I believe this coat was tailor made for me, it ticks all the right boxes.

From now on, I'm going to try and incorporate coats into my wardrobe. I used to heavily wear coats on my daily commute to work in public transport. Now, since I drive to work, the mornings just doesn't feel as chilly anymore in the comfort of your car, plus it's pretty hazardous driving to work in a big coat (arm movement very limited!).

Have a relaxing weekend!

Queenstown

I have been dying for a holiday since I got home from my last holiday in Dec 2012.

The Boy and I had to think about where we wanted to go as we both don't really enjoy the heat, as enticing as a beach and pool kinda holiday is, we wanted to do something a little different and after seeing a documentary on New Zealand a little while ago we both just thought that it would be the perfect place for our first overseas trip together.

Ever since I got here I've probably said the sentence "Oh gosh, how beautiful is it here?!" a thousand times and we've only been here for 1.5 days. I already do not want to leave! I definitely recommend visiting Queenstown, New Zealand.

It had forecasted 7 days of rain and overcast and we were super lucky to have had more sunshine than we expected today and fingers crossed this is how it will be for the rest of our stay here.

The endless breathtaking lush green hills are so hard to capture in a photo. Snow capped hills are always on the horizon which is a picturesque contrast to the green and gold that sorround it.

I can't wait for the adventure ahead the next few days.

Marant

I know the twisted body-con skirt has had it's time in the limelight and probably now needs to retire, but while I love a good trend, there are times when they are keepers, like this Isabel Marant Etoile twisted skirt for example.

I purchased this at Barney's last year while I was in San Francisco. It's a dark grey marle and the material is just beyond amazing and it twists in the right areas just perfectly.

It's only a trend if you let it, but if you love something, I think you can find a way to make it a forever piece in your wardrobe.

Creature Comfort

I'm at a point in my life where comfort now means everything.

No matter how much I like a piece of clothing, if it's not comfortable, I won't bother with it.

Growing up, you read people in magazines say that as long as you're comfortable in what you wear you will exude confidence and sexiness.

This outfit is case in point, ok maybe not the sexiness part and the confidence part is partially true in that I am pretty confident that a nip slip or accidentally flashing my undies isn't likely with this outfit.

Those are my two biggest fears and thank god only one of them has happened...that I am aware of.

In fact it borderlines what a homeless person might wear, or in my case, comfy enough to emulate my "house clothes", which consist of old tatty and oversized clothing.

But I'm sticking with it no matter how homeless I look.

Spring Time Saturdays

Spent the day with my sister in the city, taking Hyde Park in, just roaming around and then caught up with The Boy and watched a movie afterwards.

I thought I'd channel my inner toddler and sport this polka dot romper. Honestly, there isn't a romper I don't love. It takes a lot of will power not to buy more. I knew I was going to do a lot of walking around then go to the cinema afterwards. I don't know about you but I get extremely cold inside cinemas and I'm the type of person who feels the cold severely, I love the cold but only when I'm rugged up, so sneakers were the best bet for comfort during the day and warmth while inside the cinemas.

There are art installations all around the city and I've finally been able to go see some of them, my favourite would have to be the giant bright snails. The yellow one is my fave!

I hope you're all having a joyous weekend!
