Muted Tones

It's no secret that I love colour, but I also love understated hues. A subdued palette can make you look crisp and fresh and you can't really go wrong with that!

It was an extremely gloomy day and I nearly blended in with the background. It's been a while since I've worn this dress and I love it during summer. Pairing it with sneakers rather than the usual summery sandals can make this dress very transitional. When the tug of war between summer and autumn comes into play, adding a blazer, denim or a utility jacket will still look great with this outfit.

Winter Warmers

This pot plant was given to my BF and I as a house warming gift from his sister. When she gave it to us, it was filled with white flowers with faint tinges of purple. I just looked at it and admired and knowing deep down it was never going to last. Plants and I don't seem to mix. I placed it in the bathroom so its close to water (as a reminder to myself) and sufficient sunlight and out of reach from the furry friends.

Nearly 2 years on, I cannot believe it has survived. It even survived nearly 3 weeks of no water as I forgot to remind my BF to water it while I was gallivanting around San Francisco and New York.

You're probably wondering what this plant has to do with winter. We'll after having it for 2 years, I realized that it starts to flower around Autumn. As you can see, the first bud has peaked its head out and I cannot wait for it to open to ring in the cooler months.

My Winter Rainbow
Loving these fine necklaces. I thought I would take the term "Crazy Cat Lady" to new heights with my embossed cat pendants, keeping my furry friends close to my heart at all times *crazy*
Shoes that will be in heavy rotation to keep my toes warm
Winter means candlelit warm bubble baths and I cannot wait to use these bath salts I picked up at Pier 39 at Fishermans Wharf in San Francisco, the ducky needs to be test driven!

I love (!!!!!!!!!!) winter. In my younger years, summer was the best season. The days at the beach and endless tanning, but something recently has turned that around for me. Maybe it's the fact that I live far away from the beach now. While growing up the 2 main beaches in my hometown were only less than 15 mins away. Now it's an arduous drive through hideous traffic. I also find myself less patient with the heat, and tanning, well I'm more aware of skin cancer now.

Remember kids, tanning is your skin cells in trauma!

So today, after finishing another assignment and waiting for my BF to wake up, as I needed for him to help pin my garment on me and take snaps so I could send it in for marking, I got to thinking about how excited I am about my winter wardrobe.

I had recently purchased some patterned jeans (on sale! oh yeah!) and while I was browsing, I found the cutest tie-dye beanie. All summer long I've been slowly collecting winter stuff. Though it probably helped that I was in the US at the beginning of their winter and all the cheap and oh-so-cute clothing shops there were selling sweaters, which is my biggest vice. If I see a sweater, you bet I'll want it!

Don't even get me started on leather jackets. Yes I have a lot, more that one person needs - but i'm little and I get very cold in winter - that's my excuse!

P.S. Does anyone know what I can clean my Hunter Wellies with? I don't know why it has white powdery marks, I've tried rubbing a damp cloth, but it dries white again.
Any help would be appreciated.

I bought these off Matches a few months back. Unfortunately I wasn't too comfortable with the size as I felt it was a little big. I managed to find the correct size and now I need to sell them.

They have been worn twice for a short period of time, apart from that there is nothing wrong with them. So these are not brand new as they have been worn, but they are otherwise pristine. There are no rubbing or wear to the soles at all. The only marks are dirt marks you can easily scrub off on the bottom of the right sole. See the 2nd picture.

This will come with the original IM shoe box and 2 x original IM pouches for each shoe.

I will be selling them for $670 + $20 shipping within Australia. For other countries, please contact me for shipping rate.

Contact me if you have any questions.

Getting Lippy

I always envy those who have the courage to wear bright lipsticks on a daily or regular basis. I don't know if it's their courage I envy or their patience of having to touch it up. No matter what those lipstick ads say, normal lipstick does not stay on your lips while you eat and drink.

I've also come across girls who look great with their bold lips until they smile and their teeth are wearing more of the lipstick than their actual lips. So it's really a combination of fear of looking like a mental patient who just ate a lipstick and the impatience of up-keep throughout the day that staves me away.

A Thorny Affair

Probably the most woeful tasting pizza I've come across
No luck for the Dragons tonight

My friday arvo consisted of being dragged to a football game. Growing up in the 'Gong, with my family being Dragons supporter and ending up with a guy who's also a crazy fan, by default ('cos I have no choice, nor do I really care to make one) I guess I am one too.

I have never uttered the words "What's happening?" so many times in my life. Admittedly I do end up having fun when I go see these games in person. The atmosphere can be quite electric and there are usually some characters that give you a right good chuckle.

Stripes are making another appearance today, maybe i'll go for a hat-trick in my next post. I have a penchant for matching stripes and pinks together. Due to my extremely boring dress sense, I like to let my accessories do all the work. These Unif Hellraiser shoes definitely live up to their name and always ellicit comments from strangers. Every single time I have worn them, I hear whispers of "Look at her shoes", or "You wouldn't want to be kicked by those!". The best one was probably a total stranger in the elevator who knelt down and touched them and asked if they were real metal spikes. It was certainly entertaining for everyone else in the lift that day.

Enjoy your weekend!
