Leather Weather

It is finally leather weather!

I got this leather jacket for Christmas and even trying it on gave me heat stroke (damn you summer!!!) I am happy to finally be able to sport it.

My heart melts looking at the detailed sleeve. I really don't know where this intense love of leather comes from. There's a surge of excitement when I see a well made leather product, which is horrible for the wallet, but superb for the senses! Oh the heady leather aroma is my idea of sweet sweet perfume....*ahem*.

Here, I went for extreme comfort, with the most unflattering white boyfriend jeans. I mean, my ass is not usually this huge. Maybe it is, but I try not to accentuate it. Not that there's anything wrong with having a huge ass, but these jeans are so freaking comfortable that I don't care what I look like. I tried to look less homeless by adding the detailed leather jacket. Everything else was worn for comfort. I was going to a family Easter lunch that day and this was the best outfit to pig out on. I was literally at my parents for 45 minutes before a food coma slapped me in the face and all I wanted to do was go home and nap. Until the Easter egg hunt had to happen, then I came to life at the thought of chocolate eggs.

I should say that I didn't really participate in the Easter egg hunt, I merely helped out in hiding the eggs for my little cousins but they didn't know how many eggs there were in total and I may have hid some of them in my belly.

Denim & Doiley

I love mixing different pieces that are complete juxtapositions of each other. This trashed oversized denim jacket paired with this delicate scalloped edged doiley shorts just mixes it up a little. Plus both are super comfortable so it was definitely a bonus. It was a great mix for exploring this little bridge that I always spy on the train ride. I told The Boy about how I always wondered where the bridge was and what purpose it served. I love these little adventures!

I hope you had a lovely Easter Long Weekend with bellies full of chocolate!

Transition

The mornings are cooler, I can tell cos of the fog that envelops my car and how I cannot see anything but the streaks that the window wipers leave. The only way I know I'm not hitting any cars is that I can see the silhouettes on the side. This is (EXTREMELY!!!!) bad and I'm really not sure why I'm sharing this cos it's not something I'm proud of. This will never happen again, I swear, but I digress....

I love that the days are getting shorter and we can once again wear long sleeve tops and leather espadrilles without losing 10kg from sweating.

Days Off

I usually have Fridays and Saturdays off, which is basically my weekend, but this week I only have today (Saturday) off and on my to do list was to sleep in and get a massage. Mind you, my idea of a sleep in is waking up at 7am or 8am, blame my body clock. Plus I feel like it's such a waste of morning if I wake up later than 9am, I love being a morning person, everything seems so much fresher in the morning. The feeling is even better when you know you don't have to do anything.

Enjoy the weekend!

Bright & Casual

Spring is meant to be a little warmer than say, Winter or Autumn. However Spring has started off to be a scorcher. Where else can you have 32 degrees Celsius Spring days?  I was hoping to sport some trans-seasonal gear but it looks like we're diving straight into Summer, and summer calls for loose fitting crop tops, yes this is as cropped as I'll ever go. Though I bought this top about 3-4 sizes too big as I wanted it to be a little longer, plus I wanted the airy-ness it would provide during the dry humid days to come.

I hope you're all having a fun-filled weekend!

I . N . F . L . U . E . N . C . E

I know, I know! It's so cliche to love Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, but honestly, how can you not? Their love of avant-garde fashion and how they always manage to pull off amazing and sometimes strange ensembles all at the same time is just awe inspiring.

The fact that Mary-Kate toted around the most beat up, worn and ripped Hermes Kelly, put a few people, and by a few people, I mean the crazy die-hard Hermes fans on The Purseforum, into a spin. Comments like "Can she not afford to buy a decent looking bag?" made me re-think them as fashion icons. Yes she can afford a yacht full of brand new Hermes bags, but the fact that she chose not to gave her some cred in my book.

Speaking of which, their aptly titled book Influence is just that to me, influential. The book comprises of people in the fashion industry who have influenced them throughout the years. It's filled with amazing pictures of the twins in amazing outfits and an insight into their favourite accessories. Every time I open the book, I feel like I'm being taken into the magical world of fashion that's at their fingertips, but out of reach of mine. The fantasy of it all makes it magical to me.

This is basically just a composition of some of the books contents and styling it with some of my favourite items and accessories.
