Hardware

I get thoroughly excited by hardware on accessories and clothing. Those kind of details can and make or break an item. I have never been shy of mixing metals in an outfit, especially if it's just a casual outfit, I honestly think anything goes. For instance, here all my jewellery is silver, the hardware on the bag is rosegold and the shoes are covered in gold studs. They're minimal details that make a difference but also doesn't overpower the whole ensemble.

Hope you are all having a great friday!

Coated Wine

Just a quick hello to say Winter is finally in full force (hallelujah!)!!! Though I am uncomfortably freezing, I love it! If I could drape myself in leather, I would! I'm only really just missing a pair of leather pants, one day I will own one, but for now I will have to settle for the leather look. I am especially loving all the coated denims. They have a leathery look, but with the ease and comfort of jeans.

These wine coloured jeans are from Cotton On. I am really loving their newer skinny jeans range. They are vertically-challenged friendly, in that they are actually skinny legged all the way through. Most of the skinnies I've purchased, when hemming, I've had to actually taper the legs so they hug my ankles. The pitfalls of being short, le sigh!

You can't see the front pocket zips here but these are the Zippy Coated in Wine, they also come in black and they are ankle grazers. I love love love this colour too, it's a perfect Winter colour. I also stumbled upon their Basic Tees range called The One, they are so comfy and it might sound ridiculous, but it is so hard to find crew neck tees that fit perfectly, so these might actually be...The One!

Happy Weekend! Hurrah!

Lighter

I love dark coloured clothing/items as much as the next person, but as my inner motto has always been to try and create a point of interest in my outfits, I have always felt that anything dark would just blend in and become incognito. So for as long as I can remember, when I see something I like, I always see if they have it in a lighter colour. I guess for me, I gave the colour black a stigma that it's boring. I think it's stemmed from my love of handbags. Now unfortunately I have a champagne taste with a tap water budget when it comes to accessories, especially handbags. When I used to mull over what handbag I wanted, I never chose the colour black as I felt it was too boring and mainstream. I mean everyone has black handbags and I certainly didn't want to blend in (not that there's anything wrong with that!). Plus, I figured if you're going to spend a bit on an item, you would like it to stand out, right? Well, that's just my mentality, though that's not to say I don't have anything black.

Just lately I have been leaning a lot towards much lighter hued clothing. I'm loving that lighter tones are becoming for the colder seasons where previously it has been darker, richer jewelled tones. Give me the icy greys and pretty pastels anytime!

Have a lovely weekend!

Leather Weather

It is finally leather weather!

I got this leather jacket for Christmas and even trying it on gave me heat stroke (damn you summer!!!) I am happy to finally be able to sport it.

My heart melts looking at the detailed sleeve. I really don't know where this intense love of leather comes from. There's a surge of excitement when I see a well made leather product, which is horrible for the wallet, but superb for the senses! Oh the heady leather aroma is my idea of sweet sweet perfume....*ahem*.

Here, I went for extreme comfort, with the most unflattering white boyfriend jeans. I mean, my ass is not usually this huge. Maybe it is, but I try not to accentuate it. Not that there's anything wrong with having a huge ass, but these jeans are so freaking comfortable that I don't care what I look like. I tried to look less homeless by adding the detailed leather jacket. Everything else was worn for comfort. I was going to a family Easter lunch that day and this was the best outfit to pig out on. I was literally at my parents for 45 minutes before a food coma slapped me in the face and all I wanted to do was go home and nap. Until the Easter egg hunt had to happen, then I came to life at the thought of chocolate eggs.

I should say that I didn't really participate in the Easter egg hunt, I merely helped out in hiding the eggs for my little cousins but they didn't know how many eggs there were in total and I may have hid some of them in my belly.
