Winter Blues & Khaki

Winter is in full force. Over the weekend severe storms were forecasted for the whole week. Bummer! However as I type this sunlight is beaming through the shutters, so I guess the weather forecast is once again wrong.

This outfit was from a few days ago trying to run errands. Lucky it didn't rain the whole time I was out and about, thank you rain gods! I however had to lug an umbrella around just incase. When I take an umbrella, its not those little foldable ones that can fit in your handbag, I want an umbrella that at least covers me, so I take the huge ones and they are a pain to lug around.

Let's hope this sunlight continues, the unrelentless rain has been depressing me.

Everly And Diego

As much as I complain about the heat and wanting it to be colder, I have actually been missing warmer weather attire. The good thing about Australia, even though it's meant to be the middle of Autumn, when the sun is out, it can still get very warm. The only sucky thing is that you never know what to leave the house with. If only carrying a small suitcase containing a few weather appropriate outfit changes was easy to do, then I'd be all over it. So shorts with boots are the best bet the rest of your lower limbs won't freeze off. I can't really rave enough about these Jeffrey Campbell Everly Boots. I have never owned a pair of boots that doesn't weigh a ton, so easy to walk in!

Speaking of weight, this Alexander Wang Diego bag probably weighs more than 10 pairs of these boots combined. As heavy as it is, I love it to pieces! The leather is also pretty damn amazing and I'm pretty sure all the weight is due to the extremely thick and chewy leather and let's face it, I go crazy for anything with studs on it. I think if you studded a pair of Crocs, it would get a second glance from me and that's saying a lot!

Army, Nautical and Neon

This vest is such a life saver when it's windy and you're wearing something short, and I cannot get enough it! It's also such a great item during transitional seasons when the weather is still trying to decide what it wants to be when it grows up.

Stripes, anything neon and ankle boots are my biggest weakness. I hoard these things like a Bower bird, collecting the same items so I can attract a mate. I'm not really trying to attract a mate per say, i'm pretty sure the boy can't compute half the items I wear anyway. Like the time I asked him what he thought of the Sass and Bide harness, he asked why I needed a harness and if I was a horse. Enough said.

There's just something about stripes that attract me to it, I can't even come close to explaining it, but it just seems to look good on anyone and with anything. Neons, I can explain a little better, I love colour, the brighter the better. Ankle boots, doesn't really need much explaining. Even if you're vertically challenged, they look good. I've tried knee high and mid-calf boots, but they just don't have the same edge as what ankle boots can give you. These Jeffrey Campbell boots are my most favourite, they're not clunky in look and weight. I have sandals heavier than these boots and that's very hard to come by. This is definitely a winter staple.

The Collection, So Far........

A few months back, I did a collage collection of my other accessories here and I've been meaning to do one of my shoes and bags.

A common theme that you see in most of my outfits is that  my clothing are bargain finds or DIY's, while my accessories like bags and shoes are a little more on the splurge side. I figure if I end up weighing like the size of a small elephant, I will still be able to use these items.

Looking at it all laid out like this, makes me feel a little better that it's not too out of hand yet. Though in the next year or two I plan to add a Givenchy Nightingale to the collection. That's one bag I've wanted since the dawn of time (exaggeration never hurt anyone).

Due to my unemployment status, (why won't anyone give me a job?! If not for the financial reasons, just for the fact that I'm getting hooked on Bold & The Beautiful again! HELP!) I've been forced to shop in my own closet of late. It hasn't been bad so far. It's forced me to appreciate and actually use the things I have. It's also forced me to start altering the items of clothing I've purchased and not worn cos it was either too long, or too big, or I bought it for the purpose of making it into something else. It's amazing how good it feels when you finish altering a pile of clothes, it's like you just bought new items without spending a cent. For now, I am off to clean and condition my bags. Gotta keep them in tip-top shape! It would probably sound better if I said my social life is waning due to my being unemployed, unfortunately, I am as sad as they come. Nothing I enjoy more than staying home, especially since I get really sleepy by 9pm.

Happy Friday everyone, I hope the weekend brings you fab weather and great company.

Phone Snippets

I read The Archie comics growing up and i'm loving this MAC campaign!

 Loving me some hoola hoop!

It's not a successful visit to the city without some Moochi fro-yo's!

Miss B-Town relaxing at the Botanical Gardens. I'm falling in-love with her all over again!

Miss Chanel and I enjoying The Script concert

Just a quick and random post on what i've been snapping on my phone lately.

I don't think an outfit post will be likely this week as it will be a little busy. I'm volunteering for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. It's great that we're allowed to take pictures, however we are not allowed, as volunteers, to put them on any social media sites while the event is running. Which is perfectly fine with me. So i'm hoping to snap some great pictures and share them next week sometime.

I witnessed a great show today and saw so many people who are like rock-stars to me, like my fave Aussie bloggers and stylists and a few people I follow on Instagram, so I've been star struck all day long. The biggest would probably be Christine Centenera, that was a major moment for me. I couldn't even concentrate and just stared. I hope I didn't look too creepy.

I hope everyone is having a fun week!
