Painted Dress

When Zara first opened in Sydney Australia, people went nuts! To be honest, I didn't know much about the store. I haven't really travelled overseas and not familiar with what the store really offered. I didn't bother to visit the store until about a month after it opened. All I was seeing on the news is the lines of people that would gather outside before it opened for the day. I guess Australians were starved for budget friendly fashionable pieces.

The first day of me visiting, I got there 15 minutes before opening and still had to line up. While in the line, there was this beautiful red tulip dress on the mannequin that retailed for $219. I could not stop staring at it. I decided that would be the first thing I would pick up. I got in and the dress was nowhere to be found, only to be told they sold out and no they would not take it off the mannequin for me, even worse, it was my size. About a month or two later I went in and saw the same dress, in a cream for only $69.95. Done and done!

Unfortunately it sat in my closet for another two months. I felt it needed to be visually interesting. I then painted it with a leaf motif and quite like the way it looks now. I think the dress was just bought during the hype I had created in my head. Though its a classic silhouette, next time, I'll take a seat, have a sip of water and really question next time I make a purchase - (haha yeah right!) said a shopaholic never!
